At Kirsty's prodding, and to bring some scientific rigour into what was previously blanket statements along the lines of "They're mad! The lot of them!!!", here's a poll.

[Poll #145435]

st.john's wort really is very potent.
Apparently it might become a prescribed drug because it's a herb that actually works, but also because it interferes with a good number of prescribed drugs, i.e. some anti-depressants, and the pill.

in a real pinch, I've used St. Johns Wort as a substitute for Paxil.

The main difference is it takes about 16 St. Johns Wort tablets to = 1 Paxil.

Never got to try ST. Johns wort myself because I was on seroxat and the psychiatrist said St. Johns wort would interfere with it in a negative way.

But now if I need to I'll try St. Johns Wort because I don't want these prescribed medicines in my system anymore.
