Sorry if I was a bit abrupt there - just head deep in code.

To expand a little - I used to change back and forth every couple of months. I like the way a trimmed beard looks on me, but I also like looking younger (which being beardless does for me). And I get bored with anything given enough time (apart from black t-shirts with silly things on them. That seems to have lasted pretty well).

Well, I rudely asked you why you changed your appearance so abruptness is fine :)

When I shaved I used to find having stubble almost unbearably irritating (no hair was OK, hair is fine, stubble is bad) I sorta assumed that it was like that for men too (itchy scratchy annoying) but I guess I'm dim like that.

Sometimes I get bored with my hair; but the prospect of growing it all out again is preventing me from hacking it all off.

I don't really notice that kind of thing after the first 5 minutes. My brain seems to switch off constant signals very quickly.

And that's the same reason I've never gone bald. Otherwise my curiosity would have led me to shave off all my hair at some point.

I think the "itchy scratching" stage of a beard growth is common for men, but I've not thought about it; I experience it a bit when I've not shaved at all, but don't normally notice when I'm growing a goatee (maybe it's worse on chin/cheeks, or partially psychosomatic?).
