I have changed beyond recognition

I shaved earlier today. First time without a beard in, um, two years?

Julie keeps staring at me and making faces. Apparently she only recognises me if she holds her hand over the bottom half of my face. And I look waaaaay too young.

This is entertaining me more than it probably should :->

Probably one of the last photos taken of me before I grew my beard in late 2003-ish is, unfortunately, my passport photo. I frequently have to show secondary ID at the airport because they don't believe it's my photo.

Late 2001, I had a beard (or as much of one as a 19 year old can manage), and was in need of a new passport. My parents saw the photo I took and said "you'll not have a beard when you're older, shave it off, wear a tie, and get a smart looking photo". So I duly shaved it off, and that's what I have on my passport. It's a terrible picture, in case you were wondering, with 6 months into growing my hair long not helping.

Since I've had a beard pretty much non-stop for the last 7 of those 10 years, and that the last time I shaved my beard off (January 2011) I looked so bad that I immediately grew it back, I think that this was probably a mistake. My next passport (since the last one expired in November) is definitely going to feature a full (but tidy) beard.
