My brain keeps trying to see it as a real photo. Then as this counterstrike map:

The New Museum of Scotland had a similar effect on me when it first opened. Place feels like a Doom level.

Well the lighting on the stones on the left does look a bit artificial... ;)

The top pictures looks to me like it's been processed for HDR, high dynamic range. It can result in odd lighting effects.

If someone actually created an Italy hostage map that looked that good, I'd play it.
