Yes, it's brilliant because it conveys how cultural meaning grows out of iconic events, even down to individual movements that are over in one second, and how that happens in an ever more precise way nowadays because everyone can watch and rewatch that crucial second happening. Creative brilliance by the ad writer.

Yup, that's an impressive ad. Football as culture.

Closing with Cristiano Ronaldo makes this 4th generation Portuguese-American very happy (my great-grandfather is from the same island as he is). The Simpsons bit was great.
