Facebook has a new money making scheme.

1) Hide your status updates so that only a small proportion of your friends can see them.
2) Charge you to "promote" your updates (i.e. pay so that your friends can see what you're up to.)
3) ???
4) Profit!

Where (3) is, presumably, "Assume that all of our users won't go somewhere else, because we don't really have any competitors."
