Club Noir

Was ok.

The outfits were great, but the actual acts were less entertaining than a youtube video, the music was merely "ok" and the place was too crowded. I stayed until about 1:30am (2:30am considering the clocks went forward last night) and then walked [livejournal.com profile] mab to a taxi rank before ambling home.

Waaah!

Just watched Cry-Baby for the first time. We wanted a Johnny Depp movie, and this was the only one that none of us had seen. Fantastically silly fun, with two standout chunks of dialogue in one scene:
Allison: I want to, but I can't, for my parent's sake. They're both dead, Cry-Baby, I'm an orphan!
Cry-Baby: Oh, I'm sorry, Allison. But no wonder we're together. I'm an orphan, too.
Allison: You are?
Cry-Baby: Yes! And orphans have special needs.
Allison: Well, okay, but outside the shirt this time.
and
Cry-Baby: My father was the Alphabet Bomber. He may have been crazy but he was my pop; only one I ever had.
Allison: I heard about the Alphabet Bomber! Bombs going off in the Airport, and the Barber Shop.
Cry-Baby: That's right. All in alphabetical order...
Cry-Baby: [looks up at sky]
Cry-Baby: Car Wash, Drug Store. I used to lay in my cradle and hear him scream in his sleep...
Cry-Baby: [sings]
Cry-Baby: A-B-C-D-E-F-G. BOOM! BOOM!

Definitely worth a watch. Must track down Cecil B Demented next.
