I was thinking of posting on the JK Rowling article. I think what is most revelatory is the tone of the comments. Cameron says the Tory party is no loner nasty, but the comments from Tories are as nasty as they could be: 'Why should I pay because you can't control your reproductive urges'

Wow, I never liked the Oasis brothers but that's an awesome comment. Wish he hadn't said "silly" tho, that's just removed about 1000 hard points.

Aaahhhh! I read the J. K. Rowling letter, and I respect it a lot - I spent four years as a single mom before my stbxh and I started dating, and am again in that boat.
But...
the comments below! Where does all the loathing, vitriol, blood-drenched-teeth-tone come from?! I can't believe how incredibly rude and angry everyone seems to be! I had to run away. It was depressing.
