Sold!

My mobile contract runs out in July.  Short of a better Android phone coming out before then I strongly suspect that the newly announced HTC Desire will be my next phone.

I've had the HTC Hero for about 6 months now and am totally sold on android. I had the whole thing setup in less than 20mins which included syncing it with our exchange server at work. The only complaint I have is that the processor could do with being a bit faster, which makes me very tempted to buy a Nexus One now that it has multi-touch.

Hmm. I'd been looking at the Nexus One (my contract runs out next month). Are there any obvious reasons I should be waiting for the Desire instead, except for the fabulous name?

I've been using a Nexus a bit lately, and although it is a lovely thing I don't think I could live with the on-screen keyboard fulltime.

My Motorola DEXT is in many ways less lovely, but it has a real typeable keyboard.

I was thinking about getting a Nexus One when I eventually move back to Scotland, as the mapping will be invaluable.

I presume the Destiny is chained to your wrist, and Destruction is very difficult to find.

You should investigate friending Andrew De Quincy(ADQ on LJ) He's an established geeky hacker of HTC stuff and has recently posted about getting USB stuff working. I'm shocked you guys don't already know each other( I know you know him by sight since you asked me at Gothboat who he is) I can't think of two people most suited to be friends.
