Wish me luck

I've dropped all my important documents into DropBox, made sure my music is on the networked hard drive, and copied Neverwinter Nights off there as well, just to be on the safe side.

It's time to install Windows 7.

Wish me luck.

The starter edition of Windows 7 does not include an ad hoc wireless feature according to Microsoft. However, a blogger for Within Windows said that the feature is present in the operating system. It is just hidden.

It's fairly painless. I've done it lots of times now as part of my tests...

It'll even handle some of the unsupported upgrade scenarios quite happily (with just some minor edits to the install files). The only issues I've had have been long upgrade times on well used Vista machines with tens of gigabytes of user files.
