I'm all about the wet spot
Damp specialists arrived at 8am this morning. They were slightly confused that the initial work order wasn't the same as what they were now supposed to do (just find the source of the damn water) - but got stuck in, so we left them at 8:30 to get to work/meetings.
I popped home at lunch* to find out what they were up to - and discovered they were entirely absent. So I phoned their office to find out what was going on, and got a call back from their contracts manager. Apparently they _have_ managed to find dry rot, but _haven't_ managed to work out where on earth the water is coming from. Part of me is amused that I'm a special snowflake who has mystical confusing water, but most of me would just like the bloody bedroom back. So, tomorrow a more senior person is coming out to find the source of the water.
*sigh*
On the plus side, citylink called while I was home for that half hour, and delivered a new dish drainer and a music playing thingy that I'm trying out for my brother.
There will, undoubtedly, be further updates. I bet you're all as sick of this as I am.
*It's incredibly useful to live only 15 minutes from work - commuting is a doddle and I was also able to pop home and bring soup and bread to an ill Julie** last week.
**She's still ill, by the way - but now able to struggle into work when she absolutely has to.
