Note - the figures in question 3 are _gross_ income, before tax.

Those figures are the income percentiles for the fully employed UK workers, which you can get from here. If you're in the second group (£312 a week) then at least 10% of the population earn less than you, if you're in the third group then at least 20% of the population earns less than you. If you're in the first group then your life sucks.

I live in a great house,* on just over three acres, and my husband is going to Australia in a few months (I don't want to go.)
I think "very well" covers it.
* Keep in mind that houses are relatively cheaper here and the acreage is a lot easier to come by. We're in Texas.

I'm not at that level, but I'm certainly reasonably well off. Well enough off that I could cut my consumption quite a lot and stil be happy.
