Those figures are the income percentiles for the fully employed UK workers, which you can get from here. If you're in the second group (£312 a week) then at least 10% of the population earn less than you, if you're in the third group then at least 20% of the population earns less than you. If you're in the first group then your life sucks.

Absolutely.

I wish I'd added in another question.

Because that changeover is one of the biggest ones that can happen.

For the record, before changing jobs I'd have ticked both. Now I'd just tick 'Time' (although having enough money I could be sure I'd never have to worry again would be *nice*).

Yup - from where I am, a little more money would be nice, to have a nicer place to live, and then after that it's silly money to allow total freedom.

I have made that changeover, and now I have more time. It suits me rather well.

This is sometimes tempting. I've actively avoided promotion once because the next level up they increase your bonus, remove overtime pay, and expect you to work "whatever hours are necessary" rather than a 35 hour week. And I _like_ a 35-hour week.
