I need a bomb

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that 80-90% of people in the USA drink caffeine every day.

I mostly cut it out of my diet a while back, and find that I sleep better and am happier since then, but I haven't been a major user since I realised it was taking three cups of coffee to get me going in the morning and quit overnight (the headache lasted about four days).

I drink coffee = triple espressos - before the gym and/or yomping. COmbined with chili it jacks up my metabolism and reduces my susceptibility to pain/tiredness.

I usually have one cup of tea & another either tea / coffee during the working week. At weekends sometimes a bit more.

I used to drink Diet Coke regularly, but am currently trying to cut that from occasionally to never, as let's face it, it has no redeeming nutritional qualities whatsoever.

I have just given up! It is hard. I am all over Rooibos right now. My answers two weeks ago would have been:
- multiple times a day
- to wake me up in the morning, to keep me going during the day, it just happens to be in drinks I like

I drink a large cup of coffee every work day, but it lasts me approximately 4 hours, so I picked both "to wake up" and "to keep me going". On the weekend I will make a point of having some manner of caffeine to stave off a headache, but it doesn't necessarily have to be coffee.

I used to drink simply ungodly amounts of either coffee, Mountain Dew, or Iced Tea but have cut down for various medical reasons, the primary one being some seriously wicked jitters after a year of giving it up (though not for any particular reason, I just gave it up) made me incredibly sensitive to caffeine.

Woops, I totally answered under the wrong username. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

I love tea but really, I drink caffeine to supplement my other stimulant that I take, dextro-amphetamine. I'm on 30 mg of dexedrine a day and I use the caffeine to supplement it. But for me, it's a calming agent and it helps me get to sleep. Without it, thoughts are racing through my brain too much for me to get to sleep. This is due to me going to sleep too long after my last dexedrine. If I went to bed fours after taking it like I am supposed to, I wouldn't that problem.

But then, I know that I'm not neuro-typical...

On average I'd say I consume (roughly) 6-8pints of tea a day (while at home) and 5 latte's (while at work).

Sadly though, Caffeine has no effect on me. I can drink alot for days then go cold turkey for days with no ill effects. It doesnt perk me up or wake me up nor does it inhibite my ability to sleep soundly.

Generally, I feel betrayed by caffeine. I want that kick most normal folk get! rubbish.

I drink it 'cos i like it :)

I have a Coke every morning and eat chocolate most days. If I have a lot to get done I have a Red Bull, but only before 10 AM or I won't sleep.

I used to drink a lot more caffeine: coffee in the morning and Jolt cola at lunch. But I can't tolerate as much now.

Caffeine doesn't really help me wake up/stay awake. Drinking something will help me wake up, but that can be almost anything.

I'm one of those weird folk who adore the smell of good coffee brewing but can't abide the taste of it (any variety - I've tried a few different sorts, and they're all complete ick). I love a good black tea (most breakfast varieties especially, yummmmmmm) but not for the caffeine. I've tried 'em with & without, and can't tell much difference for the caff itself. Most of the sodas I drink are caffeine free, actually, unless I'm getting something at a restaurant or convenience store.

Of course, chocolate is the gods' food, so I must have my choccie! ;) But it's not required every day. I do notice that if I go several days without any caffeine at all (no choc, no sodas/tea, etc), I will develop a slight headache but nothing major. And it usually takes almost a week before I notice anything at all. *shrug*

I gave up caffeine a few years ago. My driving improved noticeably.
