I've played all of these, some with regularity, in my past... but grad school means I don't have time for any of it. I couldn't bring myself to tick the "I don't play games" options though, just too sad.

I prefer not to play roleplay games, but most games groups I've been involved in like to do so, if they want to play at being wizards one week, but will let me invade Kamchatka the next, then that's fine by me.

I prefer strategy or modern board games to pretty much everything else.

For computer games, I tend to mostly play RTS, although last month or so it's been almost exclusively Oolite, the open source Elite emulation/expansion.

I try to avoid online stuff simply because I know how addicted I can get to games, and I prefer to have a game I can pause/quite out/save at any time.

I don't play RPGs because of a rule. I don't play because I've never been asked to.

I did try and track down a group when I was living in west London, but moved out, and don't really have the free time these days.

Poll Fail.

Roguelikes.

In fact, I've been playing Roguelike Doom recently. Much fun. ;}P>

FPSes make me nauseated, rhythm games are boring, and MMORPGs don't interest me because people suck and the last thing I want to do is hang out with large groups of some of the worst of them on my time off. *g*

I would happily play any and all if I just had the time and resources.

That's odd, the "I don't play computer games" answers from Q1 and 2 don't match. Also, surely a slot for solitaire/freecell and casual/puzzle games (Bejewelled etc)?

Interesting - I'd call games like Settlers and Power Grid (which I play a lot) "strategy games", and games like Axis & Allies "war games". I found it quite odd to tick a box saying "I don't play strategy games" when, in my terminology, I play several a week.

These days I only play Civ IV, and then rarely, apart from Guitar Hero at Si's :). I don't feel any sort of attraction towards playing games, I enjoy Civ IV but not at any challenging level of difficulty, generally only the second or third level. I can't grasp how everyone I know plays games all the time - I think there is something wrong with me..

I was going to say that I don't play computer games, but I'd have been lying - sometimes, various forms of patience are the perfect displacement activity.

Where does Peggle Nights fit into this schema?

And I don't play FPS games because they make me vomit - motion sickness takes about five minutes to set in and four hours to get rid of. :(
