Yay for finance!
The Royal Bank of Scotland has assets of £2trillion. And you own 58% of it! Well, the government does, which means you own a tiny fraction of that. Pat yourself on the back for the £150-odd you own of RBS shares!
And then you can worry about the £1.9 trillion of debt that was taken on along with it.
That's 140% of British GDP.
And that was only the first bank that the government bought up chunks of.
Huzzah!
