If you are a woman, know one, or are related to one then you'll almost certainly be as sickened as I am by this article on discrimination against pregnant mothers.  But not terribly surprised by most of it.  The bit that gets to me is that an advisor to the government is saying it, and nobody is speaking out to contradict him...

That was her own business, not his. It's reasonable to assume that if someone's applying for, and subsequently accepting, a job, they are in a position to do that job. You don't get to second-guess them based on their age, gender, parental or marital status or any other damn thing. If they can't do the job, fire them. Don't refuse to hire them because you assume they're not capable of finding a childminder.
