Detente
Last night I fell asleep with a cat on one side of me and a kitten on the other.
Every so often a kitten tail would wave itself high enough that cat eyes could spot it over my stomach and there would be a low rumbling sound.
Still, I managed to fall asleep.
And then wake with a start about two hours later, depositing a very confused and tired kitten on the floor.
I got him back on the bed before he properly woke up though, and he fell back asleep in about three seconds flat - which seems to be a habit shared by kittens and babies.
This morning I woke to find a suspicious cat on top of a tall pile of boxes, watching nervously as a terribly energetic kitten dashed in circles.
I think we're all looking forward to Ed getting back, so one of them can sleep with each of us...
