I've still yet to meet any non-geek in real life who would go near a sci-fi/fan club with a ten foot bargepole, but hey. That's probably because I live in backwater (Backwards, rather) suffolk :P.
I do rather like the idea of TV as the opiate of the masses. There's certainly a large dose of soma mixed in with with the heroin as well :).
Oh; and *is currently listening to Rocket Queen by Guns 'n' Roses* :P. The first "song" (if that's the right word) I ever fell in love with was probably Questa Notte by Ludovico Einaudi - simple, yet complicated, and hauntingly beautiful piano music at its' best.
